No Interfaces in Wireshark on OS X

So I installed wireshark for OS X and tried a capture and it notified me that there were no interfaces available.  I did a quick search and found a quick simple solution.

Open up terminal and type the following:

sudo chown <your username> /dev/bpf*

Reopen the wireshark and the interfaces will be there then.

  1. This is one of the most incredible blogs I’ve read in a very long time. The amount of
information in here is stunning, like you practically wrote the book on the subject.
Your blog is great for anyone who wants to understand this subject more.
Great stuff; please keep it up!
    Get Wireshark
